Bio:
Laura Kurgan runs an interdisciplinary design, architectural and art practice in New York. Her recent projects include Monochrome Landscapes, to be exhibited in Architecture by Numbers, Whitney Altria, New York, March 2004-May 2004, New York, September 11, 2001, Four Days Later, in Ctrl[Space], ZKM, Karlsruhe, 2002, and Global Clock No. 2, 2002, part of Money and Value in the Swiss Expo 2002 in Biel/Bierne, the New York offices of WITNESS (www.witness.org) and Around Ground Zero, a widely-distributed fold-out map of Lower Manhattan after September 11. Her installation projects have been exhibited internationally and focus on the creative diversion of advanced information technologies, in the interests of political engagement and memory.
