Bio:
Judith Wright links video with drawing and works on paper, exploring personal imagery and a few selected symbols. Her work references the landscape as well as female and male identities. Body signs hands, feet, shoes, torsos and heads are depicted realistically in video and then abstracted in her paintings on paper. Judith was a former dancer with the Australian Ballet. She has received numerous grants and awards including a residency in Calcutta, India in 1996 and has lectured at Griffith University in Brisbane. For this exhibition, Judith will include 2 new video pieces that were made during her recent Australia Council Residency in New York.
