Bio:
MELISSA DUBBIN and AARON S. DAVIDSON have worked collaboratively since 1998. Their pro-jects are multi-disciplinary in nature and include practices in video, sculpture, sound, perform-ance, and works on paper.
Dubbin and Davidson have exhibited internationally at Sadlers Wells, London; 2004 Gwangju Biennale, South Korea; E-Flux Video Rental; Espace Paul Ricard, Paris; and the New York/Québec Interlacé Festival. They have exhibited in the United States at museums, galleries, and art centers including New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York; Center for Contemporary Art Santa Fe, New Mexico; The Museum of Art and De-sign, NY; New Sound New York Festival, The Kitchen; Bronx Museum of the Arts, NY ; and Smack Mellon Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. Dubbin and Davidson have collaborated on projects with Pierre Huyghe, Morton Subotnick, Shawn Onsgard, LOT/EK Architecture, Woody Vasulka, Molly Sturges, Chris Jonas, and as transmission artists with free103point9.
In 2005/2006 they participated in residencies at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Councils Work-space Program: 120 Broadway, New York City, and as visiting artists at New York Universitys Advanced Media Studio. Other awards include a 2003 NYSCA Individual Artists Grant, a 2002 residency at the Experimental Television Center (Owego, NY), and a 2001 New York City Inde-pendent Radio and Sound Art Fellowship from Media Alliance/Jerome Foundation.
Melissa Dubbin was born in 1976, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She received her de-gree in Moving Image Arts from College of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Aaron S. Davidson was born in 1971, in Madison, Wisconsin. He received his degree in Photography from Univer-sity of New Mexico, Albuquerque. Davidson currently teaches at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
Dubbin and Davidson live and work in Brooklyn, New York.
Their work is currently on view in the group shows Denial is a River, SculptureCenter, Long Island City, New York, and Drawing Stage at City Without Walls, Newark, New Jersey.
