Bio:
James Woodfill is a 1980 graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute. He has worked as an artist in Kansas City MO since graduation. For the majority of his career he has concentrated on installation art, with frequent solo and group shows, including, recently, a group show at Rocket Gallery in London. He has been awarded numerous public art commissions and has worked extensively on privately commissioned outdoor sculpture in public places. He has collaborated extensively with the Kansas City based architectural firm eldorado inc., with these collaborations extending into educational and curatorial experiments as well as public art and urban planning issues. He has received a variety of awards for both his public art work and studio work, including a 5 year studio grant from Kansas City based REVIEWFUND in 2005.Gene Ertel is currently a TV Producer at WCOT-TV13 in Tallahassee, FL. Gene is fascinated with light and texture as it interacts with the screen whether it is a CRT tube, brick wall, or silver laminate. The interaction of light, it’s quality, absence, and intensity are ongoing themes in all of his work from experimental, documentary, music video and narrative. John Sjoblom is a Kansas City writer and filmmaker. He is a publish writer of short fiction and poetry, and wrote and produced the award winning short film, “Petrol Mart,” and wrote and directed the short film “The Singing Bass.” Screenwriting credits include a feature length script sold to a Hollywood production studio and a segment of “Split Screen”. In 1996 he produced the award winning experimental film, “60 Hz” in collaboration with James Woodfill and Gene Ertel. He is a past president of the Independent Filmmakers Coalition of Kansas City, and a Board Member of the Kansas City Filmmakers Jubilee, a film festival dedicated to screening and promoting independent film.
