join us for the OPENING RECEPTION Friday, January 28, 6-9 PM
It is with
great pleasure that Gigantic ArtSpace [GAS] presents its first solo show, American Panopticon,
an exhibition by Michael Zansky. Large-scale kinetic sculptures
integrate light and sound to reveal private
speculations of the cinematic and the scientific - invoking both
beauty and the absurd. Brilliant and compulsive, American Panopticon
tackles the enigma of uncovering the ordinary behind the lens of
the monumental. An exhibition catalog will be available.
Michael Zansky lives and works in New York City. His numerous exhibitions
include: White Columns, Universal Concepts Unlimited, The Norton
Museum, The Aldrich Museum, and The Drawing Center. Zansky is a
recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award and is represented
in the collections of The Whitney Museum, The Brooklyn Museum of
Art, The Berkeley Museum of Art and Prudential Life New York, among
others.
GAS will concurrently represent
Zansky’s work at ARCO ‘05 in Madrid, Spain.
