Introduction:
Gigantic ArtSpace [GAS] and ADVANCE Global Australian Professionals are pleased to present THE ROVING EYE, an exhibition of 13 internationally recognized Australian artists, open from May 31 - July 27, 2006.
THE ROVING EYE reflects on the centrality of travel to the Australian cultural identity. Working across diverse media, these thirteen artists offer an account of their unique explorations within Australia and at-large.
The exhibition includes recent work from Lionel Bawden, Rodney Glick + Lynette Voevodin, Tina Gonsalves, Janaki Lennie, Max Pam, Lea Rekow, Aaron Seeto, David Sequeira, David Serisier, Darren Sylvester, Edwina White and Gulumbu Yunupingu.
This is the third consecutive year that a group of Australian artists has been exhibited by Advance in New York. The exhibition is sponsored by UBS Investment Bank, the Embassy of Australia in Washington DC, the Australian Consulate General in New York and Fosters Wine Estates. An illustrated catalogue with an essay by Ben Genocchio of the New York Times will be available.
